An exhibition in honour of a Japanese settlement made famous in the movie Yamada Tiger of Ayuthaya in 2010 this place is interesting in its recording of the small Japanese settlement in Ayuthaya some 400 years ago comprising largely of Christians fleeing the anti Christian...More

The settlement is well design, and organized. The buildings and structures are well maintainted. The japanese garden needs maintaining. Video presentations are simple but adequate. The artifacts are well presented and the staffs need to improve their knowledge in history of the area.

The museum is really interesting from the point of view that it explains really well the reasons why the Japanese were there in the first place and the history behind their leaving but the gardens (Japanese style) really need more upkeep.

Situated on the small country road from Ayutthaya to Bang-Pa-In Palace, this place seems to have undergone recent restoration. Everything looks pretty new. Admission 50 Baht. There is a beautiful Japanese garden/park. Two museum buildings give an insight into Ayutthaya's importance at the time. In...More

This museum is mainly a collection of reading panels which are very heavy on historical detail about Japan-Thai relations, but which don't tell you much about the Japanese settlement itself. I didn't find it particularly informative. It's also quite out of the way, so I...More

Located on the roadside between Bang Pa-in, the Summer Palace and Ayuthaya town. With the proximity of the location and convenience for the Japanese tourist, this Japanese Settlement attraction was built. However due to the lack of deep understanding and historical knowledge of the settlement,...More
