Overview
More
Lanta Old Town is a small village on Ko Lanta's East Coast in Krabi Province. Many years ago, Ko Lanta's Old Town acted as the port and commercial center for the island and provided safe harbor for Arabic and Chinese trading vessels sailing between the larger ports of Phuket, Penang and Singapore. Today, Old Town is the district capital; it has a post office, police station, Buddhist temple, Chinese temple and the island's hospital as well as a long pier.

Quite and lovely small local town, few restaurants with decent looking prices, great view to the ocean, if you looking for a coffee break with a stunning sea view, it would be a good place.

Lanta Old town is situated on the southwest side ob Ko Lanta and is accessible from the East Coast Road too. The silent and beautiful township showcases the old world charm with its wooden buildings that house shop cum residences of locals. The main street...More

We hired a driver through our Airbnb resort to take us to Lanta Old Town. It was a very hot day. 2 of us wanted to shop (women--surprise) and the other 2 forced themselves to try a couple of bars! It's not a place with...More

I visited here briefly on an island scooter tour and really liked the town. It has an old feel, with great views of the islands to the east and a row of great shops selling crafts, spices and clothes. I bought some lovely coconut shell...More

When “off season” it’s a little quite and not a lot to do there except eating on the nice decks on the water. You can also take a long-tail boat from there while experiencing the old city atmosphere.

Not a really town, one little street with some typical (Chinese stuf) tourist shops. Also a pier on which you can walk. My option: you don’t mis anything when you haven’t been there

I found several items nice for gifts here and wanted to buy a lot more but I’m basically backpacking so that made it difficult. A few shops had some very nice hand made items. I found a very cool vase made from a mango tree.

Worth the ride over to Lanta Old Town. LOts of lovely spice shops. Pretty little fishing’s village. We travelled by a car tour for 1,800 baht for five of us.

Really hot here at Songkran. A quaint old place that is worth a visit if you are on Ko Lanta. Many restaurants and touristy shops to browse. Not a lot else but it is interesting for a couple of hours visit.

Best way is to rent a car or scooter, it was really cheap. But it is possible to get a taxi. Your hotel will definitely help you with thay information.
