Don't be fooled by this place. I had the worst time there. The teacher is terrible. The workshops is expensive. I saved my money to go flight place to stay and for workshop. I was so sad that it was not good. I had a very bad time. Be careful please please please

Hi there, Thanks for dropping in and sharing your experience. It is understandable that the transmission of the authentic traditional yogic knowledge Agama Yoga offers may not be for everyone, especially in today's marketplace where Yoga is largely practiced as exercise and physical performance. I was really resistant to the idea of Tantra - I didn't want to be put in some gender-stereotyped box. In my communities in San Francisco, gender had always been fluid, and this diversity of expression felt good and right and true. What I didn't realize was that I had already put myself in a box - I had spent... More

I've recently spent 6 weeks at Agama which included the one month intensive. It really was a worthwhile experience and dug a lot deeper into the practice of yoga, its origins and gave a more complete holistic view of what yoga is and what it can offer practitioners, both beginners and experienced alike. The teachers were very passionate in there... More

If you have an interest in learning the philosophy behind true traditional hatha yoga I strongly recommend a visit to Agama. The level 1 course is intensive and mainly covers Hatha yoga and also goes into a lot of Ayurveda as the two systems are interconnected. I am a traveler with an interest of exploring alternative philosophies. The yogic system... More

Agama Yoga attracts spiritual aspirants seeking for something more in life. Hatha yoga at the school is following the traditional scriptures, performing asanas for longer periods and focusing on specific chakras and flow of energy. Sometimes challenging but brings visible results. Spiritual awareness always there for fast progress in the spiritual evolution. Knowledge and wisdom as deep as you want,... More

Agama is one of the rare schools (possibly the only one) that offers Yoga, from physical up to Spiritual, in such a depth and variety. There's not a case that you'll not a find your own preference from what is taught there. The founder of the school, Swami Vivekananda Saraswati, pumps constantly Aspiration through his Satsangs (Spiritual Lectures) that are... More

Came for their Tantra workshop and being disappointed is too mild to describe the entire experience. Unclean practices. Shady teachers with suspicious background (Tantra). Inappropriate language used throughout the workshop. After visiting Osho school in Puna and Tao Retreat to study Tantra, and being a yoga and meditation practitioner for 15 years, this school is sort of a joke with... More
