We went as part of a tour and went for around 5:30pm. There wasn't many people and the sun was still shining, the water is clean and blue and the sands are golden, it's amazing! Don't buy drinks here though as they are overly expensive.

We stopped by Maya Bay as part of the boat tour. It was overcast when we went, which was kind of a shame, but still very much worth it. I wish we could've spent more time there. There's also a little trail that will lead...More

A long speedboat ride to the phi phi islands is an experience in itself. Try to get yourself a seat at the front tip of the boat and brace yourself for a rollercoaster ride when the speedboat hits the huge waves. Maya bay is the...More

The spot is very beautiful and you can actually thank mother nature for creating such places. But, the spot has become over popular after the shooting of the movie "the beach" of Leonardo Dicaprio and hence hugely crowded. Still, it is worth seeing the nature's...More

Overcrowded and really not worth the extra money you have to pay to visit it. Some longboats take you to the other side of the island where you have to climb up and down the ropes to get to the beach. Actually, there is another...More

Too many people squeezed into what was once a pristine marine sanctuary. Boats crushing coral each time they attempt to beach at low tide. Still beautiful, but steps need to be taken to protect this area.

This place will remind u of the movie.. the beach :) Must visit but keep it clean.. clear water with a majestic view. U gotta be very careful as people are very strict abt the maintenance of this beach.

I first visited Phi Phi 12 years ago. Very different place now. Absolute hoards of people (mostly massive groups of Chinese) have turned this sight into an image resembling a plague of mice. After paying 400thb so called National Park fee to access Maya Bay...More

It's a beautiful beach, and definitely worth a visit. Be sure to get there really early or it's like a theme park!! We arrived around 8:30am and enjoyed the beach with just a few people on, but the time we left the area was full...More

most of the tour companies offer day trip to Maya bay so by the time you reach it will be crowded, mornings are less crowded compared to the later part of the day, but the crowd does not cause much of a problem, you will... More
