First, I have no religion. Second, this place is a sanctuary for those who seek quietness far away from touristy places. Easy to get there, follow along Tran Phu str, come to a quiet neighborhood and you will see the signboard. Enough said! Highly recommended for taking photo (be restrained from taking photo inside hall and chapel)

Great church, chapel, statues, seminary, nunnery etc all up the side of the mountain with fantastic views of the South China Sea. Opportunity to climb to statues for even better scenery if you are so inclined, great photo opportunities.

Been here for a private mass for our Vietnam Pilgrimage 2017. Huge interior and you can practically feel the ocean breeze in the church. The atmosphere here is so peaceful and suitable to conduct silent prayer.

I really enjoyed visiting this site. The colossal statue of Mary is rewarding enough in its' own right, but what I enjoyed most was the climb up the steps, which had numerous smaller statues along the way, and leading to a splendid view from Mary's feet. I noticed however that the steps continued further up the mountain; curiosity drove me... More

I spent 3 full days in Vung Tau, travelling around on a rented push bike.....a great way to see this coastal city. One place I visited was the Statue of Mary. The climb to the statue is fairly easy. The climb passed the statue to the top of the mountain is a strenuous one. Great views from the top and... More

We visited this place after go along many beaches in Vung Tau: the Front beach, the Back beach, Pinapple beach... We are Buddhist but its quite peaceful place to relax for a while, what a pity it's not sunny so our pix taken here could not be nice with many colorful flowers as in fact.

I visited here just before sunset. A beautiful and serene place with not too many visitors. A calm place for reflection amongst Maria and child and other biblical images. Very scenic views of the ocean are an added bonus.

Hike up to the left side to see smaller statues of Jesus's life on the way up. I went up the center and down the looker's left and realized I was hiking it backwards only after the fact. Very cool statues, I'm not very religious but it is a very peaceful place and gives you a great view of the... More

Vung Tau has a lot of temples, mostly Buddhist, but also churches and two imposing statues of Christ and Maria with the Child. The church of Bai Dau with the giant statue of Maria with the Child is a landmark of the city. If you go uphill on the stairs to the base of the statue, there you’ll understand how... More
