The Visitors Center offers an experience combining the life story of the Israeli astronaut, Col. Ilan Ramon, while enabling visitors to become familiar with the largest makhtesh in the world and its unique natural phenomena.

The staff working there are very very knowledgeable about where to go for what. There is a also a tour of the museum in the visitor center with English speaking guide. The view of the crater from the outside of the center is pretty dramatic...More

Well done experience. Good video on Ilan Ramon , the Israeli astronaut. The view from the centre is amazing and a good respite from the heat.

We stopped here driving north from Eilat. They compare it to Israel's grand canyon. Not that special, but you have to go by it on way North out of Negev..

If you have your kids they will love the show and the history. My grandson is named after Ilan. They capture the mood and move you into reality. Plus real under standing in lay mans terms how the Makhtesh were formed.
