Note: The light house is not open for visit (which was disappointing as I am sure the view from it is spectacular.)

Arrive Cape Rachado's parking lot just after noon. It was an overcast day, warm and humid, but the road is shady. The walk up hill takes about 20 minutes. Heard a lot of wildlife along the way but didn't see any. At the lighthouse which is NOT OPEN to the public, walked around the the top, snap photos with the light house. With the trees you cannot see the Malacca Straits very well. There are a number of nature trails to hike if that is of interest. There are also trails to hiking to the beach. Do bring extra shirt and towels as this is tropical forests, you will sweat.

It's a nice little rainforest walk to get to, nothing strenuous at all, concrete, and barely an incline. The view is pretty non-existent at the lighthouse, no coastal view, but the lighthouse was nice to see for a moment.

Please be highlighted that: The light house is not open for visit. Only see it and snap photos from far.
We arrive Cape Rachado's parking ground at about 1pm. It is big sunny day but the path is shady, no umbrella is needed. Our walk up hill takes about 20 minutes. Saw many monkeys along the way. When we arrive the top, snap photos with the light house, then descend. Nothing much unless you are hiking to the beach. Do bring extra clothing and towels as this is tropical forests, you will sweat.

I noticed most of the visitors were the hikers with proper attires who use the trails for hiking. Well I guess this attraction is not for everyone. Just forget it if you're not fit enough. It's about 900m walk from the entrance. Initially, the road was fine but the pave gets steeper and steeper as you go further up.

About 30 minutes of walking up you'll reach the top, then you gotta climb the concrete stairs to reach the Lighthouse. This is an active Lighthouse so the visitors are not allowed to enter the building. The sea view could be stunning if not been blocked by trees. Overall, it's not a bad place to visit.

Visit for the Batu Putih trail, and stop by the light house. Normally will spotted monkey at the forest, yet it is the first time spotted the Dusky Leaf Monkey [most likely, not 100% confirm] at this area, excited.

Short hike 60-90 minutes depending on what you want to cover.
You got to see an actual working light house from external building only. You can also take 2 trails to reach a elevated rock area for your instagram view photo of the sea from the top.

Serene location with a lot to offer for nature buffs and twitchers.
Bush walks are really great and not difficult.

Really peaceful place to visit

Only downside is that the rubbish bins are not being emptied so people are trying doing the right thing by leaving their rubbish there but it’s not being picked up.
Why leave more rubbish if you can see it’s not being collected, though?

Recommend it for a good walk - you should plan 2 hrs. Bush walk isn’t great for very young children
Bring water; bring back the container.

Visit here every time coming to PD. Beautiful forest on a hill jutting out into the sea.
Only RM1 entrance fee at the gate hear to Ilham Hotel. About 800m up the road to the lighthouse - then two options - climb steps to the right 100m before the lighthouse for the trail to Batu Buteh ( nice rocks with a view towards PD town - or continue past the lighthouse and follow the trail down to Pulau Intan on the southern tip of cape Rachado where there is a small beach and nice views. From Batuh Puteh you can climb down to the right to Monkey Bay and then back up to the access road near the entrance.

Best place to see sunrise and sunset. U can either watch the sunrise from the Lighthouse or go down to the beach. Very calming and the view is breathtaking
