Our family of 5 (kids 16, 14 and 11) feel very privileged that we have been able to visit Lankayan Island. It really is paradise on a small stretch of sand - you can walk around it in 15 minutes. The water is the colour you dream of, we snorkelled with the turtles, lazed outside our lovely bungalows and ate... More

Stayed 3 nihgts on the island. There is only one resort , managing ca.20 wooden chalets. Most of them are situated on the beach. Fortunately we had airco in our room. Fridge, Outdoor shower (next to indoor bath) was very convenient. Coffe and ea in our room.A nice couch indoor and a graet terrace, giving views onto the sea. Staff was... More

As a couple traveling as back packers, having two nights at Lankayan, turned out to be the best treat we could give ourselves. The house, the beach, the water and the view were truly magnificent and the staff was nice and calm.

Two teachers travelling around Borneo but needed some relaxation time and wow, did we get it here! I was the most relaxed I have ever been here! You are surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters and nothing else in sight! Turtles are all around you, beautiful white sand and peace as not a lot of people can stay on the... More

Absolutely wonderful place. Fantastic accomodation, very friendly staff and good food. The location is idyllic and the dive and snorkeling sites are uncanning. Also great place to see some turtles nesting, we even saw a nesting right under our cabin.

Quiet and peaceful. Chalets are right beside the beach and very comfortable and spacious. It's a fairly long ride in a fast boat out to the island which is very close to the Philippines border. The dining/lounge area is at the end of a long jetty and catches the sea breezes. A green turtle laid her eggs while I was... More

I cant express enough how amazing and peaceful this place is. This is a must stay, and from comment of other guests this place was much better than all the other islands in Sabah and Sarawak. We were swimming daily with turtles and snorkelling the reef. Every night we got to see turtles nesting, one turtle even nested under our... More

I stayed three days and nights in June 2015 and dived for the three days. I am a vegetarian. Lankayan Island is a stunningly beautiful island just over an hour's boat ride from Sandakan. The water is crystal clear as you walk around the island and you can watch turtles and other fish swimming in the shallows. While there have... More
