Small, tucked-away beach with few toursists and an interesting turtle protection station managed by an NGO
We visited this beach with canoes and found that it was a nice place to spend a couple a day. Snorkeling is good out here, especially on the Southern rock-faced-beach. We met a very friendly and communicative young American NGO intern who was looking after the turtle hatchery project (24 x 7!). He was very knowledgeable and taught me everything that was done by the NGO to help the turtle eggs to not disappear during the nights in the bags of poaching local fishermen (who sell these eggs to the Chinese :-(...). It is heartening to see that there are such good initiatives to protect the remaining wildlife in Malaysia.…

Great job but not particulary public
We did visit the Turtle hatchery in combination with a snorkeling tour and I must say they did not show much interest for us tourists. We did understand what job they did while we have seen the same but much bigger on Borneo.
