A dream beach. Arrive early in the morning around 9-9.30 because then a lot of people arrive and you will lose a bit of the charm of being alone on this island.
There are no facilities.
Don't go there on weekends as it gets overrun with locals
We have done many excursions but this is the most beautiful beach we have seen.

The most beautiful beach in Besar along with Romantic Beach by Perhentian Kecil. A water to be envied by the Maldives, possibility to seek shade under the very lush vegetation. There are no amenities, and this clearly makes it even wilder, but the beauty is just that! We went back 3 times in 9 days.

Another great beach in a great island of Malaysia. Crystal clear water, white sandy beaches and great place for diving or snorkeling. Highly recommended if you looking for peace and to unwind. Hope my pictures help

Most of the reports below are of the beach in front of the Perhentian Island Resort (PIR). This is where you can regularly see turtles (full size) grazing on the sea grass.

Turtle Beach/Bay is actually the second beach as you head North East from PIR. You come to a small bay/beach first and then the next larger beach is the actual Turtle Beach. Very nice, white squeaky sand, very good snorkeling, a line of buoys protect the coral area and are in quite deep water so the boats don't come in there. I think only 1 boat turned up the day we were there and that was further around the corner to the east. Remnants of the turtle hatchery etc. but from reports it is closed down now and the programme is no longer in existence.

We were staying at Coral View Resort so on one day we caught a boat around and they came and picked us up in the afternoon and the other day we went we hired kayaks for 1/2 a day and paddled around, Dad and the 4 yo and Mum and the 10yo. Great way to see things and we stopped in at the small bay as well and it also had very nice snorkeling.

Snorkeling wise you will see hundreds of sea anemones with clown fish in them, saw a few baby clown fish with their parents as well which was amazing as to how small they were. Loads of fish of different types, soft coral, hard coral, a couple of eels etc. Follow the line of buoys around as although there are small plateaus of sand there are large lumps of rock/coral that you discover. We hit some patches of sea lice that made the kids itchy, the 4yo kept swimming however the 10yo went and played more in the shallows. They are time of year dependent and are hit and miss.

If you are looking for the perfect beach, look no further. Soft sand, clear water, sourrended by jungle, very few visitors, cliffs, monkeys in the trees and a babyturtle station.

A short boat ride from Mama's Place you will find every beach goers dream.
If you want to sit in the sand soaking up the sun, Turtle Beach is for you.
If you want to lean against a rock in the shade and watch the world go by, Turtle Beach is for you.
If you want to swim in the warm clear water, Turtle Beach is for you.
If you want to snorkle and see an amazing array of fish, coral and other sea life, Turtle Beach is for you.
An underwater camera, snorkling gear, your bathers and a towel are all a must for a visit to Turtle Beach. We stayed half a day, which was enough to see and do all that we wanted, however more time would of meant another swim or snorkle and that is never a bad thing.
By far my favourite beach when staying on the Perhentians.

I've been to some beaches now. Gili air, tulum beach, top rated beaches in the Caribbean. Turtle beach on perhentian island is simply the best, by far. It's a protected beach, which means no buildings, no resorts, nothing. Just the beach and the jungle behind it. You only get here by boat. The water is crystal clear with the best snorkeling I've ever had. The corals are so alive, you'll see nemofishes everywhere, reefsharks, turtles "if your lucky". We was alone there for an entire day, just us and the monkeys who lives there. This is probably one of the best beaches in the world.

A beautiful, small beach surrounded by jungle. Crystal clear waters and plenty of fish. It is nice for snorkeling even if not of the same level as Rawa Islands (which, according to us is the top in the area of Perhentian).
No structures whatsoever in place, so remember to take some drinking water with you.

The turtles come to lay their eggs here.

Two hints:
- try to get there around 9:00-9:15 AM, this way you may enjoy 30-45 min of peace before the majority of the tourist boats arrive
- you can also reach it from PIR beach with the hired kayaks; it takes about 20-25 minutes to row one way. The cost of the kayak is about 20 MYR/hour each.

Not to be missed!

We never expected the turtle to be so near with us. You can laterally have a swim side by side with them. At first we were so scared to go near them as one of them is really huge. But the guide told us that they won’t bite. Then my youngest daughter aged 15 requested to go down again to touch the turtle. We use go pro to record all the video. It’s going to be a fun memory for all of us

If you enjoy nature and have patience you will love this beach and turtle hatchery. The eggs are buried by the mother and left to hatch. Staff carefully check the nests daily and advise when hatchlings are due.
To watch the mini turtle appear from the sand and head to the sea is indeed a privilege you won't find elsewhere.
Peaceful and tranquil, the beach is a haven.
