Dive Refresher and Scuba Dive at Stingray Alley
Oct 2020 • Couples
Had a week at the Perhentian Islands with my wife. We decided to tune up our scuba diving with a refresher before a scuba excursion at Stingray Alley. The Center is located in the big island and nice a spacious. Everything you need is there along with a great staff!

The dive was fun as well. Site is off the little island and full of large rocks and sea life. We will be back for more diving and further adventures.

Bad first experience
Sep 2020 • Friends
Unfortunately was not a good experience for me here, at the very start of my holiday. If you get the chance to choose an instructor, I would not recommend Joe. He was very cold and rude, and even screamed at me (necessary..?) when I could not deflate my BCD as the button was a little stuck (I have an AOW license). I ended up booking the rest of my dives with a different dive center. The rest of the staff were really friendly, though.

Excellent Dive Shop
Sep 2020
We did our refresher course and fun dives with Universal Diver. Alex was really patient, gave thorough and helpful lessons and pointers while keeping a strict eye on us and our safety. The dive shop is organized and the equipment and boats are well-kept. We enjoyed our time so much, we added two more fun dives to our trip.

Great place to learn to dive
Jul 2020 • Couples
My partner and I both did our open water course here. We communicated with Charlotte beforehand who was warm and helpful. Farouk was our instructor and he taught us well. We were made to feel really welcome at Universal Dive, every day our equipment was laid out for us before we began the dive. Charlotte is really passionate about conservation and the dive centre have sponsored Abdul Chalets and another place with metal straws, which was pleasing to see. On our last day, once qualified, we dived with Alex who was a lot of fun (despite being a big Arsenal fan Hehe) and we got to see turtles! If you are staying nearby I would highly recommend diving with these guys. It is meant to be a good place to learn as visibility is good, there's LOADS to see and it isn't too deep. Thank you to everyone.
Ps. Any negative reviews on here seem to be about people who don't work there anymore, so don't let that put you off. The equipment is well looked after.

Learning & Diving
Mar 2020
My second visit to Universal Diver and my first as a student. Last time was as a fun diver while my gf did her OW and it was brilliant - as someone who was not super comfortable with diving, they really held her hand and made her comfortable to the point she's now chasing her AOW. I just completed my Rescue Diver course and having basically the entire dive staff muck in to help out with the exercises, explanations, trainings, scenario. Family feel and I can't recommend them enough. Great facilities, great equipment. Charlotte, Ali, Jay, Matsuo and Captain Yoyo - thank you all. Will be back asap.

Amazing dive experience!!

Thank you to the whole crew: Frits, Charlotte, Jay, Alex and everyone i forgot. Thanks for putting up with me for getting me through the Advanced PADI course in 2 days. Special thanks to Ana my divemaster who was such a sweet instructor and very carring and professional. I learned so much in 2 days. Saw five awesome spots with lots of beautiful fish like stingrays, clownfish, big groupers, puff fish and turtles. I definitely recommend going here to do a fun dive or get your PADI. The people are friendly and really professional. They know their stuff and i have seen a lot of dive operators that are not even close. Keep up the good job guys 👍💪.

Family-friendly, cheerful and safe

Our four children dived for the first time with Universal Diver on Besar. Patient, friendly instructors and a well-organised dive school - we had a great time, and saw turtles, rays, even a shark. Would recommend whole-heartedly.

Good diving, great people
Aug 2019
While I have dived around the world for about 10 years, Universal Diver is surely one of the friendliest diving clubs I have visited. Equipment is good, safety procedures are followed. And diving is fun ! Thank you so much to Dee and Alex for bringing joy and professionalism on the boat.

Thumbs up for Universal Diver

Small, friendly and professional dive shop. Decent equipment. An accent on safety. My girlfriend came here to do her Open Water while I was doing fun dives. She was nervous and stressed at outset and her instructor (Dailos) was extremely patient and was willing to take her through skills as many times as were necessary. All instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. Special kudos to enthusiastic Dive Master Alex who gave detailed briefings and did a great job of leading dives while keeping an eye on all divers. The prices were great, so this is definitely the place to consider for anyone thinking of taking any of the PADI courses.

Universal Diver is located right next door to Tuna Bay Resort, where the food is good (but expensive ).
