Thank you so much to Matahari Divers crews - Abang J, Nicole and Aslam for taking care of me for my first dive experience and making me feel safe like home. Did my discovery dive and love it a lot, I immediately signed up for my open water license. Can't wait for my next dive with you all again. I highly recommend anyone who wants to do their open water diving with Matahari Divers! You will have the best time of your life 🐠🐟💙❤

What an amazing diving experience with Nicole, Suzi, Aslan, kieren and the rest of the crew! We are a group of 4 with varying diving experience and Matahari could not have been more accomodating. 2 of us completed the open water qualification whilst the more experienced divers were able to explore the local dive sites accompanied by super friendly, proffesional divers. All the staff were so enthusiastic, supportive and made sure we all had the best time. Will definitely be returning!

Hi
Not a usual writer, but this is worthy to share
I did open water and advanced open water with Mata Hari divers this summer.
I can only be thankful to the full team, starting from owner Jeng, to dive instructors to boat captains and all crew.

I found a group of people with passion for diving, with passion for teaching and with infinite patience. If you add family vibe, happy and fun environment, with the good gear, it is not difficult to fall in love with diving and Mata Hari crew.

My gratitude to Aslam, fantastic teacher, Nicole, amazing teacher and Suzie for the dives.
My gratitude to Jeng for making the things easy.

I went to Mata as per a colleague referral, and was totally worth it

Happy diving

VERY recommendable place to dive! I went there because it was recommended to me on Pulau Redang. Best choice ever to do my OWD course there!
Very helpful in organizing the trip (thanks Rais). All the people are very professional and helpful, experienced, patient (thanks Rizal 😉) and its a lot of fun. Equipment is well maintained.
Rooms are simple but clean and comfy and reasonably priced.
Very friendly atmosphere, you get breakfast every day, have dinner together, enjoy the best fish BBQ by Chef Adam 👌 and have a good time. Feels like a little family 👌💪go there and have a good time, also when you don't stay there...everybody is welcome !!
I'm glad I did my OWD with you guys, YOU ROCK 🤟

Post MCO impromptu trip to Perhentian after few months being quarantined. We came for fun dive but got the super fun dive instead with Instructor #Aslamisawesome, Nicole, and Suzy. Special thanks to Abang Jeng help us finding a room because we came without prior reservation and the team for the warm hospitality. Diving package was good and relatively cheap with the best of everything. Will come back for sure ☀️🏝

We arrived on the island without prior reservation. We walked into their shop and were immediately welcomed with coffee and offers for the open water certificate. They organized a room for us without any problems. If you do the course (4D3N), accommodation in Matahari Chalets is included. You pay a bit extra if you do not want to stay in a dorm but compared to island prices it is a good deal (it also includes breakfast, which is yummy!!).

We completed the 4D3N open water PADI course (which means you'll be licensed to dive in the whole world!). The course was awesome. We were a small group of five people plus the instructor. Matahari divers keep what they promise, it was fun, loud, happy, and crazy. We had a lot of fun and also goofed around with the staff (which is a mix of locals and people from around the world), and even went to have dinner with them once.

Nicole, our dive master, has a great personality and lots of experience to share with us. It is immediately obvious that diving is her passion and that she wants to pass this on to others. The classes - in the best classroom ever, the ocean - did not feel like 'school' at all and were always fun. We saw a turtle, tons of fish, and visited the local wrecks. They quickly resolved issues like anxiety, inability to equalize your ears or what have you so that we could fully enjoy diving.

Thank you so much guys!

I came here for fun dives, so I did 8 dives overhere. It's nice that you can stay at the dive school in the dorms or the chalets. I stayed in the chalet. They have good dive masters en the atmosphere is really laidback at the shop. Good spot to hang around, for having a chat with a cup of coffee.

I wasn't too sure if I wanted to be a diver because of this excuse and that excuse, but I decided to join a friend to Parenthian Island anyway to test the waters. The water was beautiful and warm and so were the people. The island was a magical paradise. I started smiling when I saw the crystal clear water and didn't stop smiling for most of my 10 day stay on the island.

From the moment I walked up the boardwalk to the dive shop, greeted by smiles and hellos, I knew I was in. The manager (Johan) and owner (Jeng) patiently answered my 100 questions, and we worked out a price for the open water course and a basic dorm room.

Mayra was our instructor for the open water course. She put up with our group's silliness and even enjoyed it, but she was also absolutely serious about our mastering of the pertinent information. Our entire group finished the course with an abundance of knowledge and a surprising level of competence in the water. Mayra was fun, she was supportive, she inspired confidence, and she has a hearty and easy laugh - we couldn't have asked for a more perfect open water instructor. MMFL - Mayra's Mafia for Life.

After the open water course we were hooked, and what better place to earn our advanced credentials than Matahari?

For our advanced course Aslam was the instructor, but I don't have many nice things to say about Aslam unfortunately... Jk Jk Jk!!! Who lives in a pineapple under the sea!!!!!! Aslammm!!! Man, woww!! How can I describe the Aslam experience? Aslam is amazing, awesome, an A+++++ teacher, and I can't think of any more A words. Aslam brings the energy in the most genuine way. When the group is tired or bummed Aslam will brighten the mood. He cares about people. Aslam's smile comes straight from the soul. He's an incredibly competent diver and an inspiring teacher. My dive skills increased by leaps and bounds under Aslam's guidance. I trust Aslam with my life and am so grateful to have had him as an instructor. I truly left feeling like an Advanced Diver after this course! It's a good feeling. <3

Finally I'd like to mention our constant companion through both courses, the wonderful dive master in training -
Sandyyyyy. Sandy is going to be a perfect instructor; she just has all the tools. She is patient, kind, she listens, she's so engaged in the diving experience, and she can teach. She expertly watched after everyone under the water making all of us feel safe. She is a joy to be around. She made every dive more fun; we were always begging our instructors to bring Sandy with us. SANDY!! SANDY!! SANDY!! Thank you!

I've now dove with 4 dive centers and the competence, vibe, and value of Matahari is unmatched. Without hesitation I would recommend Matahari to friends and family. They will take care of you and show you a good time at an affordable price. You can't really ask for more.

Matahari felt like home. The boat men, the toasty man, the owner, the dive masters, the instructors - they were all special, really they were. I can't thank you enough Matahari for my introduction into the magical world of diving. You treated me so well and now I'm addicted.

PS bring some serious mosquito repellant, they are no joke. The prices are pretty reasonable for an island, so you don't need to go overboard bringing snacks. Please go to Parenthian and Matahari. It was one of my favorite experiences during years of traveling. I guarantee you will enjoy yourself.
