Coral Bay is an easy 15-minute walk from Long Beach, but its more peaceful nature feels like a world away from its vibrant sister beach. The path is mostly sandy and paved road through the villageside jungle. There are only a few resorts here but they face west and thereby ideal for sunset. The bay faces towards the lesser islands of Rawa, Seringgi and Susu Dara.

We have joined a few snorkeling trip with Pirate Snorkeling Service and Taxi, which is a small booth located just in front of Sea Voice Divers.

Ricky, the owner, is an honest guys and reliable. He is skillful and we feel very safe in his speedboat. Do prepare own snack and water and a bit of cash if joining the long trip, so that you able to enjoy lunch at fisherman village.

We had an enjoyable snorkeling experience when joining Ricky. We get to swim with sea turtle, sharks, and able to see a lot of beautiful fish.

A 10-minute walk from Long Beach, at the opposite side of Perhentian Kecil Island was Coral Bay. The environment here was also the opposite of Long Beach. Coral Bay has narrow stretch of darker coloured sand. In fact during high tide, it was quite impossible to walk through the beach without getting the feet wet. There were also plentiful accommodations, restaurants, boat transfer and water taxis. However, the environment here was quieter than Long Beach. Under the clear water, unlike Long Beach, there were lots of rocks and possibly hard corals. The water here had a different type of beauty in terms of colours of the water and the structures which could be seen underwater, especially from the jetty and lookouts north of the bay, in front of Shangri-la Hotel. The smaller islands of Perhentian could be seen over the Northwest horizon from the jetty and the lookouts.
