It's an amazing place! You can go up to the top and get a great view. Some people who live there will allow you to go inside their houses and see how they live.

One of those places we would not have even know about except for our Intrepid Tour. After we checked into our hotel we hiked up to the top of this UNESCO site for amazing views of the valleys and mountains. There have been a number...More

The Ksah is inhabited. Take your time to walk around as there is quite a lot to see. Most tours will rush you. Try to get to the top but best not done in the middle of the day as there is a fair amount...More

Ksar Ait Ben Haddou is a Unesco Heritage site that shows a unique piece of Moroccan history. Ksar, I've learned. is the Arabic word for castle. However, unlike other ancient European castles, it is actually a citadel perched on top of a hill, where one...More

Our group headed to the top of the hill for sunset, taking in the breathtaking vistas. Our guide explained that original families may live in the Ksar, but are restricted to keeping the look traditional, so no satellite TV dishes, etc. Everywhere you look from...More

The size of the village is much smaller than it appears across the valley. Cross the stream and follow the signs which means you take the circuit to see all the buildings. Climb to the top, it is worth the effort.

Really nice place to go to. But really annoying that everyone tries to sell something to you! They lure you in with smooth talk and being nice and I am just to weak to says " No, thank you" when they greet me kindly.

For two active and adventurous seniors, is it best to stay here in town or stay in Ourrzazate? We will be arriving with our rental car (not a 4 wheel drive) Nov 3 for two nights. Thanks!

Where is the best place to stay when visiting? Are the owners/staff helpful with booking a tour? Is parking an issue anywhere? Thanks!

Hi, Il y a des petits hôtels-restaurant très bien et typiques dans le village d'Ait Benhaddou, au pied de la kasbah. Visites libres et gratuites mais mieux avec un guide, à trouver sur place. Aucun problème de... More

Hi, We are doing a road trip in October, and wanted to visit Ait Ben Haddou. How long would you expect a visit here to take? We have lots of places to see, so need to plan carefully. Could you do this in an hour and a half (up to the top and back down, with a bit of an explore of the streets)? Thanks very much, Vicki
