Definitely one of the best souqs in morocco that we visited. Very authentic and the tourists were few in number so it was basically a local market. Not a tourist market like the souqs are in Fes and Marrakech. We bought a carpet there that we fell in love with.

We came here with our guide in March 2015. We love visiting markets so it was really fun for us. We could see a little bit about the distribution of the market, and we found quite unique things. We loved buying fresh dates and spices. Also visiting the famous donkey parking lot. Our guide and the people around made our... More

Very busy and authentic, outside myself I didn't see many tourists, hassle free busy clean market, quite impressed, fruit section was interesting, oranges seem out of season but picked up a kilo of good quality dates

The Berber market is here 3 days a week and is a great local market to walk round. You won't find many tourists or tourist shops but a very busy locals market. We were with a driver and another guide joined us. Beware as we did end up in a tourist shop getting the 'hard sell' but it was easy... More

A stop in Rissani wasn't on our itinerary but our guide thought we'd enjoy it and we did - a lot! Market days are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. It's worth planning your trip around this. What makes it different from the many others we'd visited, was the fact that villagers come from miles around to sell their wares. Most arrive... More

On our way to the Sahara we stopped at the Rissani souks. It was the most authentic experience we had in any of the souks we visited while in Morocco. This is really a market for the locals, even including a "parking lot" for donkeys. We got to see so many local produce and local merchandise, it was truly an... More

This is a market place, it is not a touristy place, which I love. You can see locals from nearby villages coming over for shopping. Nice to stop by.
