- jasonsdVista, California127 contributionsA Refreshing TreatQuite a cool place. I went on Boxing Day and the place was pretty packed with local families swimming, relaxing and eating. Both of the pools are enjoyable and refreshing with a rope swing, slack line, swings and very slippery walkways. Seriously, tread carefully right around the pools! One thing that has recently changed is the price for foreigners doubled two weeks ago. The price is now $10 to enter, but you get a redeemable coupon worth $5 to go towards your food or drink bill. I didn’t eat, but looked at the menu. You know it’s a bit pricey when they only have the prices in dollars. A great way to unwind after hiking, kayaking or kite surfing!Visited December 2022Travelled soloWritten 27 December 2022
- QuakeupVictoria, Canada220 contributionsNature’s gift of water will make you smileThis natural spring and swimming hole far exceeded my expectations in terms of the pool’s size, amenities and things to do. Expect crystal clear water in a tropical setting with huge ceiba trees towering above you around the pool. Enjoyed seeing families and couples smiling and relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. It’s where locals and tourists—domestic and foreign—get to mingle in a happy place. An easy stroll along one of the well-groomed trails led us through a banana plantation. Nice path even in the middle of a sunny day, because it is mainly shaded. The trail also provides spectacular views of Conception Volcano. Lovely flowers and mature trees line the path. We saw many small lizards, colourful butterflies, a variety of birds and even a capuchin monkey resting way up in a ceiba tree. We took advantage of the food and beverage voucher, which amounted to 50% of our entry fee. The restaurant menu offers a range of items, although we were disappointed that all listed desserts—including ice cream—were unavailable. Facilities in this park-like setting are clean and accommodate every need from adequate parking, restrooms, change rooms and even waiters will to bring drinks and food right to your table by the pool. All staff we met were friendly and eager to please.Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 January 2023
- Julia AOakland, California50 contributionsOjo deAgua—a simple spot to chillI booked the cheapest room they offered, and that was a mistake. It was clean and spacious, and the air conditioning worked well and the TV worked well and there was even a small refrigerator. The problem was that there was no outside space with the room. I could not sit on the balcony in the morning and enjoy the birds and the breeze and the ocean. But that was my mistake and it’s not a negative about the hotel. Just be sure that the room you’re booking will work well for you. The service here was great. When I had a problem with a broken showerhead, it was promptly replaced. When I had questions they were answered politely and accurately. This is not a high-end hotel. If you need a blow dryer or or a coffee maker, or an iron or 600 thread, count sheets, don’t book a room here , but if you want a calm and quiet and clean hotel room, that is literally steps away from a beautiful white sand beach, this is your spot. The pool is very clean and heated by the sun and most days I had it all to myself. There are two big comfy, four poster bed type lounges, but other than that, there’s no place for people to sit at the pool, so I took one star off for that. A note to those of you who have trouble with stairs: there is no elevator in this hotel. If you can’t easily climb stairs, be sure to book a ground for room. Also, the hotel has a great bar and simple restaurant each side but the Jo de Aguascalientes beach club is part of the hotel and is an excellent place to spend the day. They accept American Express and other credit cards but you can’t charge your drinks or food to the room. The beach is lovely and the water was very nice the week I was here. I will definitely come back.Visited May 2023Travelled soloWritten 5 May 2023
- Mathijn L142 contributionsNice, but expensive restaurantNice to spend to sime here. Entrance is 10 dollars of which 5 should be spend in the restaurant. Dont order cappuccino or brownie here. It is expensive for what you get. The brownie is piece of bad supermarket chocolate cake and the cappuccino is solution based and very, very sweet. Employees are nice however.Visited August 2023Travelled soloWritten 2 August 2023
- Leen MTurnhout, Belgium281 contributionsLovely our in paradise...We came in at about noon, very friendly staff at the entrance, plenty of parking space. The swimming pools and the decor are amazing, it looks like paradise. The water was a bit fresh at the beginning, but that didn't take long. Our boys (11 and 13) loved the Tarzan swing. In the afternoon, the monkeys came over to the pools (in the trees above it) and completed the experience... Food was good, although our waiter was not very quick. We had a walk around the Sendero, it was OK (we saw a banana plantation, howler monkeys and a lot of butterflies).Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 August 2023

- Jenika C4 contributionsOne of the best swimming holes I have ever been to!My family loved this part of our tour on Ometepe. The swimming hole was so refreshing after sweating every day in Nicaragua. They have a swinging rope and large ledge for anyone who doesn’t know how to swim or children. The food and service was amazing. Definitely a must do on ometepe. A hidden gem for the Nicaraguan experience.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 October 2023

It’s a beautiful pool to swim in, cool and clear, and with a rope swing and other fun activities! The cafe/restaurant wasn’t so good- the food was okay but overpriced and took almost an hour to arrive.

Probably lovely if you're a local, but an uncomfortable rip-off for foreigners with dreadful food that you're forced to pay for

Arrived about 11am and there only a few people there. Nice and chilled. Good place to cool off during a cycle. Don’t forget the sunscreen, The Nicaraguan sun burns!

I am unable to get into a pool without easy steps and a railing or something to hold on to. I don't see these in any pictures, but hope you can tell me.

Do they have lockers to hold bags while spending the day? I'd like to stop there for a few hours on my way from Merida to Moyogalpa, but don't want to leave my money, computer, etc unsecured while I swim

Hi Brenda,
yes there are lockers with enough room for your laptop and small things. They did not charge me for using them unless you loose the key.
