Fascinating site currently (slowly) being excavated. Our guide said it was only 25% discovered, with a lot more work to do. It takes a while to get to this site, and is not accessible by public transport. You will need to organise a private guide...More

Cahuachi, at 24 sq. km, 36 temples, and 36 pyramids, is easily the largest pre-Inca site yet uncovered in Peru. It is a bone-jarring hour ride to get there but this Nasca ceremonial centre is worth the effort.

3 stars ( average). Interesting but not allowed to enter. You can only view from a distance because they are still uncovering the site. It's like your paying to help the site be more uncovered. It is cool but needs more attention to make it...More

I visited Cahuachi yesterday and it was alright. Not much to see and very hot. There are no signs or information plaques so that kinda detracts from it, and if you go during the day it's way too hot to enjoy. If you are bored...More

We had some hours to spend in Nazca so the local agent suggested this site. I did not expect much and the drive was not so good through the the dusty desert. Surprisingly the driver was also an experienced guide and told us a lot...More

Went there by car, the way from Nazca to reach the place took probably longer than the walking loop there. Not much too see as only 1 1/2 pyramids of a total of unbelievably many pyramids are excavated. So I general impressive imaging how old...More

It was part of a bigger tour. Nothing amazing but it was good to see. We met this school (elementary) group while going around. There were getting to know their history/culture.

The 6 of us took a tour out of Nasca which included Cahuachi. While the site is reconstructed (partially), it is impressive. How the pre-inca civilization managed to establish this in the middle of this arid and desolate area is remarkable. Our group came on...More

A lot of it is rebuilt recently, you can see the original to the left of the rebuilt parts. It does give you an excellent idea of what the Nazca ceremonial buildings would have been like. I went as part of a Spanish speaking group,...More
