Dragomirna, less known and visited than UNESCO WHL monasteries, is situated just a few kilometres from Suceava. Heavy fortified, with the tallest medieval church from Bucovina, has nice frescoes and a small but beautiful museum.

Built in 1609, the monastery is fabulos. The architecture is impressing and also the paintings inside. You can find also natural medicines prepared by the nuns at the small shop inside. Don't miss it if you visit Bucovina area.

It's one of the most unusual monasteries. It's a fortress surrounded by an apple tree plantation and is very peaceful. It is the tallest monastery in Bucovina.

This monastery looks like a citadel. It is the tallest one in Bucovina. It is built from stones and looks very impressive - like a big ship! It is not one of the oldest from the monasteries in Bucovina, but no less impressive. It is...More

If you are travelling in Romania by car you should stop to this monastery. Is like a well preserved fortress. The nuns are polite and they try to help you, if you need help. It is a place to rest your mind and soul.

From all the monasteries in Bucovina this one is my favorite. It is a place to rest your soul and find peace. Everything about this monastery is impressive, the size, architecture, the protective wall with the towers. The monastery has also a museum. I was...More
