This place is a pure magic! It has some positive vibe. The stairs are a bit steep but it's worth the walk. And the view from the top of the rock is just amazing. Just go there and you will love it. I am sure.

Sigiriya should be on top of your list if you are visiting Sri Lanka. The views from top of this rock fortress are breathtaking and well worth the daunting hike. Make no mistake the hike is definitely tiring and you need to be reasonably fit...More

Absolutely spectacular. Climb early to avoid crowds and also have a bit of peace and quite to minimise the risk of a hornet attack (worrying signs and medical tents about that place!!)

You start from admiration from a long way away as the mountain appears. Once you arrive it is a nice stroll through the grounds to the hill. Then the fun begins. Is is pretty steep in spots but if you do it in stages it...More

This place is every bit as spectacular as photos suggest. The history of it is fascinating, contemplating its construction awe inspiring and to climb it gives you a sense of achievement. Before we got there, I had felt like this should have some form of...More

Well recommended as one of the top attractions in Sri Lanka. Must be physically able as the climb to the top is a task for everyone. Great day out especially with a guide whom you can arrange at the entry.

It is one of the worlds must see historical monument. It is even more breathtaking close-up. Definately worth climbing the whole way up. Climbing the 1200 step stairs is a challenge, especially when your doing it in the hot and humid weather. You definately need water...More

The climb wasn't too challenging for me (30) and my wife (28). The scorching heat gave us second thoughts initially, but it got gradually cooler as we ascended the rock. The view from the top was amazing, I just wish there were fewer people there!...More

This was one of my highlights of Sri Lanka. Recommend going early morning to avoid the crowds, and the paintings on the rock are quite interesting. Beautiful views from the top and interesting ruins. Great feeling to accomplish the steps too!

If it's without accommodation and entree tickets, it's not worth it. You can hire a private driver for around 50-70$ a day. You could also do the Sigiriya Lion Rock in the morning (+/- 30$), then the Dambulla Cave... More

Went yesterday. It's 1270 steps. Not all in one go. It is a medium to difficult climb as you need to consider heat and humidity. But ages up to 70 will be fine. $30 USD entry. (Over priced) a guide will cost you 500 rupee... More
