Good collection on the development of the Sanskrit alphabets, musical instruments. The best part is the exhibitors on the Harappa Valley Civilization. Although small for a National Museum it’s worth the visit. Cafeteria does not work reliably however, so take your own sandwich.

The museum is situated on the corner of Janpath. This museum has wide and variety of collection of art works(manuscripts, painting, armors, jewellery etc.) which includes indian as well foreign origin also. Some of them are 5000 years old too.

If you love a well-designed, informative museum with modern exhibits and good lighting, this one will surely disappoint you. It's large and the collection is good, but displays are poor. Several rooms were being renovated when I visited. However, most of it is old-style and...More

Great museum - quiet and peaceful way to spend a few hours away from the hustle of the city. Educational and well laid out.

Yes there's a staff canteen downstairs, next to which is a decent visitor cafeteria.
