This was one of the best short tours I have ever done. While it is difficult to see the conditions that some people live in you came away with the knowledge that there are people who are committed to helping and that are also working towards preserving age old arts.

PROS: Pratik is great. A funny, young guy who seems really committed to the arts, and is trying to support Rajasthani folk art. CONS: Pratik seemed to be mostly knowledgable about the performers themselves (a large extended family) and knew less about the area beyond surface level details that you could Google. Since we knew a bit about India and... More

This tour was amazing and a must do in Delhi. A true cultural experience not to pass by. Monsoon season and it was raining at the start of the tour but this did not spoil it. So glad we did this tour Prateek is a fantastic guide and we thoroughly enjoy the tour.

We chose this mainly because of the performances however the walk was pretty insightful too. Its an exciting way to get to know India through the artists, puppeteers ,regular people and beautiful smiles.

This half-day event was led and organized with great sensitivity and care. Our Guide, Prateek, was informative, relaxed and respectful to the families and people we met. He clearly knows the community well, and is welcomed and respected by those who live there. My traveling companion and I felt well-prepared and completely comfortable. Fascinating colony, full of life with a... More

Over our two week trip to India we took many guided tours and this was definitely one of the best. We particularly enjoyed the interactions with the residents - their warmth and friendliness was touching and we had great fun watching the performances. And you could tell they were genuinely enjoying themselves too! Some very talented artists. The guide was... More

We were quite amused by the puppet show that they had, it was something we haven't seen anywhere in the world. The colors were gorgeous and so were the smiles. Carry your lil camera as you can take pics of the performances although while the walk it could'nt be as great. Rest was all taken care of by the hosts... More

This was an unusual experience that we would recommend, bringing us to a vibrant slum without being a stereotypical slum tour. We would not have found this place ourselves. The tour introduced us to the people living near the Shadipur train station and their performances (singing, dance, carving and puppets) were awesome. We appreciated knowing that our tourist dollars were... More

Experiencing the tour was a very enriching experience, there were a lot of things starting from Hanuman Temple, we went into the Kathputli colony, where we saw people residing in a very challenging situation but with a smile, they welcomed us with warmth and were excited to see us. We explored the colony and later witnessed the Puppet show and... More

In a big city, to encounter narrow ways was an intriguing experience. Unlike the regular tourist attractions, its about the people, liveliness, the hustle and bustle of a fully functional colony of Artists. Although we had never met with the folks, but there were lot many things we were able to share and appreciate. The performances were indeed exhilarating. All... More
