The monastery is located in Bylakuppe, which is around 90 kilometers from Mysore. The gold Buddha is the main attraction in this small Buddhist town.

A lesser known Tibetan town in India is Bylakuppe, situated 90 kilometers from Mysore. Tibetan population outside of Dharamsala. It is easily accessible by bus and a journey of two hours followed by a pleasant and picturesque walk for half an hour..

It is at kushal nagar which is around 30 minutes from madikeri towards mysuru. Thw temple is built nicely and the idols are excellently coloured. Its 2nd biggest budhdhist monestary in India. Worth a visit, if you are in that area.

Not sure about public bus service to the monastery, moreover, monastery is about couple of kms off the main road. The best bet would be to hire a cab.

On the way to Madikeri from Mysore, you got to turn left from the highway, watch out for the SIGN BOARD, once you turn left, there will be a stretch when you just see empty meadows...continue and you will hit the monastery.
