in this museum we can see the entire karnataka folk arts and crafts.but not crowded.opens by after 10.30am.very good collection.

Folklore Musum at jayalakshmi Vilas Mension in the Manasagangotri campus is a varitable storehouse of folk culture with its collection of costumes,dolls,handicrafts,implements,utensils and articles of daily use.

This ,museum is situated with in the Mysuru university campus itself. The timings are bit stringent. It remains open from 10:30 am till 12:30 pm, (though it depends on the person incharge who may decide to close it earlier if he or she feels so!! ), afterwards the museum will open at 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm. This museum exhibits folk art and crafts from all over the state of Karnataka.The museum has a spectacular collection of more than 6500 unique folklore exhibits.Art and History buff must visit this museum.

Wonderfully curated museum.Recommended for people interested in anthropology, history and culture - and for the ones with curious minds. The place is hard to find but enlisted correctly on the map, so be patient while looking for it (the museum gate was inaccessible by car and we had to walk up to three similar buildings and ask for directions again... More

We had been to this place as we heard about it from some westerners! Amazing enough, we followed their advice to sight-see around our own country and found this splendid place. Beautiful artefacts not only from Mysore but all over Karnataka. Remember that in earlier days, the whole of South India was either Mysore or Madras! Lovely place to spend... More

An interesting, but not well labelled, collection of folk art and archaeological artefacts. Worth the visit for the building.

The old building with so many things to see inside . It has so many precious collections , It transported me back to couple of century . The rustic feel and the nice smell

This museum has a great collection of artefacts that are pooled in from different part of Karnataka and gives a feel of the states rich folklore. A lot more artefacts needs to be added and the museum has to be maintained well.
