Chamundeshwari Temple is a prominent tourist attraction as well as a place of worship in Mysore. No tourist in Mysore leave the place with out visiting Chamundeshwari Temple. In fact, many of them, especially the natives of Karnataka, start their tour with a visit to this temple and offering prayer. As the name indicates, main deity is Chamundeshweri Devi, the... More

Nice temple on top of the hills. While you close your eyes and ask for what you want...The preists are really looking forward to open your wallets...Well..What's new though.! You get what you ask with a pure heart. ( anywhere though :). )

The trip uphill to reach the top of the temple was very interesting. The temple is 11 kilometres from Mysore palace and nearly 8 kilometres of the journey is uphill along the spiral ghat route. The cool breeze from the forests makes the trip pleasing. Our visit was over the weekend around 2pm. Temple was very crowded. We purchased a... More

There are 2 ways to visit the temple: either take a bus directly from the city to the top or take a rikshaw to the bottom of the steps and walk up from there. We chose the second option. We left Mysore at 6am on a Sunday. March is the beginning of Summer in Southern India & it gets hot... More

The best about this place is easily accessible via public transport. There are buses available every half an hour. Darshan starts from 6:30 am in the morning. However if want to participate in "Abhishek" you have pre-book one day before.Entry will be early then. In the morning it feels pleasant when sunrise takes place. Although sometimes due to increased fog... More
