Fascinating purposeful architecture

This is a less known touristy spot and our driver brought us here. The architecture is quite fascinating. Used to fill rain water in the desert. Must visit if your in Jaipur

Worth a visit on the way to the fort, if only to take some photos..There wasn't a soul around except from a guard so we had it to ourselves. Lovely

On our way to the Amber Fort, we stopped by to check out the pond. We loved the architecture but didn't learn much. We wished there was a more informative signages so that the travelers can leave with a story in their head. We were also disappointed that you cannot climb down the pond unless you have permission.

We saw this on our way to drive up the Amber Palace(Fort). You can easily stop here on your way, shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes. An interesting sight to see how water was gathered back in the day. The architecture is cool too.

Our guide had described this step well, claiming its rarity was something we should definitely see. Until we did see it, I had no particular idea of what to expect. But as you can see from photos, it is a unique structure, and certainly one that appealed to my sense of architectural beauty.

Very close to Amner fort, so well worth the small detour to visit this attraction. You won't be disappointed.

Its a great show of ancient engineering for collection of rain water. Its often a reminder that we need to do the same now as well. But it needs maintenance.
