One of the first mountaineering institutes of the country.The learning center for all budding adventurers is holy grail for students.Mr.Tenzing Norgay Who was the first to summit Mt.Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary was the institute's very first principal.

This is a real hidden gem which is not so famous to the whole world The institute has a museum which has almost every minute detail of each and every climb over the Everest and the museum has the grave of Tenzing Norgay.

The entry fee is Rs. 50 for both HMI and the Zoo packed together. Camera fee is Rs. 10. The time depends on you. For ourselves, it took more than 3 hours to visit the two. Also there is a Natural History Museum in the zoo... More
