Olinda is the historic pretty part of town, It is very colourful indeed here and there is street art everywhere - and bougainvillea.
The Catedral da Sé / Igreja de São Salvador do Mundo / Church of St Saviour of the World, is located on top of a hill, with stunning views from the panoramic outlook. There were men flogging paintings (we resisted) then we wandered through a little market which is worth a visit as well, en route to the transport.

A very old looking cathedral, nothing spectacular to look at from the outside but lovely inside, it was difficult to get in as their was a mass on when we was there. The views form outside over the bay are great. The cathedral is well worth the visit though, a few marker stalls nearby selling local goods and souvenirs

It's oddly enough located very near bars and other tourists vending spots. At night, the lights make it a bit garish, but definitely is interesting place to visit.

This church was originally built on the highest point in the city of Olinda in 1537. When the Dutch invaded in 1631, the church and much of the city was burned. It was rebuilt in 1676, when it was elevated to the status of a Cathedral.

There is a bit of a climb up to the church but its definitely worth it! The views are incredible of the whole area. The actual church isn't one of the more spectacular ones of Olinda but is still worth a look and a walk around.
Go to the bar in front of the car park for a cold beverage and a spectacular view.

This wonderful little World Heritage city on the outskirts of Recife has several strengths, one of the main ones is Se Catedral.

This church is interesting, but very small. If you are driving all the way from Recife to visit this church, you may be surprised that there is really not much to see once you arrive. But the nearby view of the city and charming neighborhoods will make it worth your while.

A nice old church on the hill of Olinda, with lots of gold plating on the alter and the various frames around the walls. A large stone plaza graces the front entrance.
Note that this church has only one steeple, reason being that taxes were only payable to Vatican once the church building was completed.

Infelizmente não sei dizer. Estive lá em um domingo e pude visitar depois da missa, por volta das 11:00 h da manhã, porém, não me preocupei em ver o horário de funcionamento.
