We took a private tour of this convent built in the mid-1600s. We were scouting a location for a wedding and this place was stunning. Initially, it comes across as very old but a tour of the guest rooms revealed an exceptional and unique guest experience. It overlooks the popular Isle de Vila Franco do Campo but is a bit of a drive from Ponta Delgata. Very worth a visit

50p entrance very reasonable (I'd put it up to a quid). Some nice rooms, most decorated entirely with glazed tiles

What a treat! Highly recommend accepting the offer of a guide for a "contribution," it made the visit very interesting as I learned about the biblical stories. The monastery has seen better days but it really was a memorable visit.

Olinda's population is about 400,000 people with 22 churches - the oldest from the 15th century. The Hill in which most of the churches located have few unique reason to visit: awesome Olinda and its surrounding view, shore view etc., the churches around and beautiful local arts market - many hand made arts and other crafts. In addition the small streets which its old houses colored with unique colors is the location for the annual crowded carnival. Enjoy.

We went to S. Francisco as part of the guided tour of the old town. This convent is very well preserved, contains rich Portuguese tiles and has a magical atmosphere. It closes at 12:00 and costs just 2 R$.

A charming convent in Olinda, with beautiful interior and lovely outdoor spaces. Definitely worth the very small entrance fee.

Lacking support for the visitors and poor maintenance. Go for a quick visit while in Olinda, but don't expect much
