This was a reasonably priced attraction - the cost has gone up a bit though, we paid 8 Brazilian Real for each of us - but well worth it. The view is great. Highly recommend the stop if you are walking the streets of Olinda.

We went up to check the views and they are really nice. Not so different from what you see from the other (free) "mirantes", but since it's cheap (less 2 dollars per person), we went for it.

Worth the 5 Reals to get the best panoramic view. Really the only way to see the natural area. Helps get an overview of the city and see all the colors of the ocean.

An old building. We didn't want to try because did not seems to safe. Also the idea to climb this thing was to see the views of Olinda which was also possible to see from many other places

We went to the top of the tower to check the views over the city of Olinda , the sea and the high rises of Recife . The architecture also influenced the great Le Corbusier and the architects who participate in the design of Brazilia !

The Alto da Se is a long time must for visits to Olinda both for the view, buildings, atmosphere and vendor stalls (many on weekends) with sunset being a favorite time. The Caixa d'Agua access is new since the last visit in 2012. It was worth the R$8 for the extended view that from that vantage includes the view back to the lighthouse and Olinda (not available from below) as well as Recife that is normal for Alto da Se. The added height also gives a view down, not blocked by immediate roof tops, into the old part of Olinda as well as a view far to the west that is not as scenic as the coastal views but shows the extent of the urban area. That vantage also gives a clear view of the relationships of the historic buildings on and below Alto da Se.

This is a nice place to go at the end of the day to see the city and relax. There is a friendly little market where you can buy cold drinks including caipirinhas and snack on some tapioca sandwiches and other local favorites. Around this area there are also bars with live music at night and artesian markets during the early evening

Really great views high above over everything - offers great panaromic 360 views. Don't miss this - really worth it for some great photographs the views offer.

5 reais gets you to the top using the staffed lift. The view from up top is fantastic and the panoramic pictures one can shoot are just amazing.

Stunning views, just about the best vantage point in the whole of Olibda, to miss it would be an absolute shame There is a lift so no worries there!
