This convent is lovely to visit.... the art from the colonial period is amazing: blue tile, courtyards, paintings on the ceiling. It would be nice to have a guide to give you important details of the place.

Dating from the 16th century, San Francisco Convent has a living community of Franciscans, and is probably the highlight of Olinda. Its baroque carvings, its paintings and murals, the blue Portuguese tiles and decorations are impressive – if a little tired. The church and sacristy have richly carved woodwork, and note above your head, all the way to the ceiling.... More
