The Cullman County Museum is located in a replica of the home of the founder of the community, John Cullmann, an immigrant from Germany. Opening in 1975 the Museum has become a point of pride for the community whose history its walls contain. The Museum has displays covering many eras and interest. From Native American presentations to the Main Street displays which focus on Cullman's German heritage and early history. There are many interactive features in the Museum including the popular Arrowhead Rubbing table. Tour groups are welcome and "step-on" tours can be arranged for a first hand experience of the community. Other sites under the Museum umbrella include Weiss Cottage, Cullman's oldest house and the 1913 train depot which is located directly behind the Museum.

If you are in the area, give this museum a look see. Drew was our host on this day, and he was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about all of the curations and history of Cullman. Very inexpensive and the also sell some pretty neat items in the gift area. Also, they offer a AAA discount on the already low... More

We visited the CC Museum during Octoberfest this past year. I was really looking forward to it because I absolutely love museums, and I felt like it would be a great experience for our children since we homeschool. The museum and artifacts in the museum are interesting, but I couldn't pay much attention. My children were wanting to look at... More

We appreciate you sharing your experience at the Cullman County Museum. We are sorry it was not a more positive one. We do welcome children and have several interactive exhibits like the arrowhead rubbing table and music in the parlor room. While the week of Oktoberfest is extra busy for us we do anticipate that and have extra docents for... More

They have a Civil War exhibit, Native Heritage room,a music room, and a main street exhibit where you can look at items from the 1800's. The second floor of the Museum contains a natural history room with wildlife native to this area.

How one man started a community and a county seat. To see how they lived then, how the area grew and is still growing is well worth the trip.

I'm a local and I've been to the Cullman Museum quite a few times. Not only do they have a great display of the local history, but they also have a banquet room for special occasions at a very reasonable rate. This beautiful building is also a favorite of mine to do family portraits. Come see what Cullman has to... More

Great place to learn about the history of Cullman, AL. The museum has several items dated back to the civil war time period.

Cullman is a special town with a unique history. That history is nicely told in this small but professional museum. There is a paid staff that assists you, the exhibits show some care and have credibility and the place is nicely maintained. In short, this is a very good small town history musuem.
