long walk to bay - but, lots of interesting things to see along the way

You can walk down long road/pathway to boardwalks along the bay - there is a pier and sandy shore line - you can walk to another park too!

A well maintained park on Mobile Bay. Such a neat place to just walk and unwind. Highly recommend. Easy to hike with raised, wooden walkways, but also well marked trails through some of the old growth woodlands.

A great place for a nature walk. Lots of trees & a beautiful view of Mobile Bay. Along the way, you'll see Jackson's Oak, where Andrew Jackson is said to have stopped with his troops, and an old cemetery where residents of a bygone era in history are buried. There is at least one Confederate soldier buried there also. I... More

This place is great for a nice afternoon stroll through natural woods. Good trails and full of historical sites. Trail leads to a secluded fishing pier and a beach.

If you are in the area, this park is worth a visit. Very cool trees that can be found in the park. Trails are rustic, so if you have a harder time getting around, be aware.

We experienced the park by bike. The trails can accommodate pedestrians and bikes. History buffs and nature types will really enjoy this park.

Love walking the trail down to the beach to watch the sunset! It is so peaceful and just a nice way to spend an afternoon. Stop by Jackson's Oak and stand in awe of it's majesty and size!!! End your evening with a picnic supper under the pavilion! Just a very nice place.

We decided to stop at the Village Point park. There is a nice Pavillion in the park but the road to the Oak was located on the side of the park. We decided to stop by on Sunday morning and the gate was closed. We walked around the gate as you could see many had did this in the past.... More

If you enjoy history, be sure to go here! It is very interesting and a beautiful area to visit. The tree in the picture is very old.

The Village Point Park Preserve is accessible from Bayfront Park or from Scenic US 98. There is a boardwalk over the marsh lands and streams coming directly from Mobile Bay. At the end of the boardwalk is a pier for fishing on Mobile Bay. A nearby beach is accessible for swimming also. Recently I walked the boardwalk and saw a... More
