It was a nice secluded Island. They had fireworks on the beach the night of the 4th of July. I would stay again.

If you want to travel from Dauphin Island to Gulf Shores than taking the ferry is one way to get there. It's about a 40 minute ferry ride with scenic views along the way. The ferry holds about 18 cars on the smaller ferry that only runs during winter and spring time. The larger ferry runs after Memorial day and... More

We did not get to go out on the west beach because they don't allow dogs. I heard they do allow them on the east end but weather turned bad so we didn't go. Did go to the Audubon sanctuary another day, one trail leads to a beach on the south side, was able to take our dog with us... More

Took my grandaughters down for a quick day trip to the beach. We enjoyed it once we found the public beach. There are 2 and the one at the end of the island filled up just as we got there so we were redirected to the one in the middle. Water is not as pretty as Gulf Shores but if... More

I've been here 3 times (December, February and April). Each time I had a good, yet different, experience depending on the weather. The rock barriers added during rebuilding give variety to the experience. It's a family beach that people seem to take care of.

Lots of fun to be had and lots to look at, nature that is. We have spent many hours walking and exploring. A very beautiful and natural environment. Able to see a multitude of species of birds. Family safe outing for all to enjoy.

Beautiful and serene are the first words that comes to mind, when I think of this beach. It is pet friendly, and everyone with pets, helps to keep this beach clean, by picking up after them. Nice seashells and just a fun place to relax for awhile.

This place is so amazing that I don't even want to tell you how good it was. The beach was not very busy, the surf was low, and the weather absolutely perfect. It was a great way to spend the day with the family. We will make sure to make this a regular visit.

Good clean beach, but it is about a 150-200 yard walk to the water. We carried our cooler and it was a hard walk carrying our supplies that far across loose sand. We saw lots of dolphin swimming nearby and the water is very clear.

The beach was very nice, with a lot of shells along the beach. We went late in the day and basically had the beach to ourselves. A dolphin came in to a small cove just a few feet away from us!! The view of the oil rigs was was a bit of a negative. The beach is dog friendly. Everyone... More
