Truly intriguing part of history represented in this area of Huntsville. Old homes dating back to all decades of the 1800's that are still inhabited by the original lineage of family today. A definite sense of humility and humbleness can be felt amongst this gem of a city that feels more like a small town. This is a place where... More

If you like the old 1800s area this is a good one easy walking cool sidewalks on a hot day. Not far off the square for meals and good parking for a couple dollars. We did about 2 miles of the area in about a hour and ran out of time before we had to leave for our bus tour... More

Twickenham is a lovely area full of beautiful, historic homes. The best way to explore it is on foot on or a bike! My partner and I quite enjoying riding through on our bicycles and admiring the homes.

My husband and I were on our way from the Von Braun Center to Monte Sano State Park. We made this detour through the neighborhood to see the homes. They were beautiful and maintained. Most had a small sign in the yard to give you the year it was built. .All were cared for and worth the detour. The neighborhood... More

Too bad a map or website doesn't exist to get more info about each house as you drive or walk around. Don't be surprised if drivers get annoyed with you lol :) The courtyards of the homes are so quaint.

This is a lovely walking neighborhood in downtown Huntsville. The historic homes have markers and some have a little history write up, too. It's nice for walking or just driving through!

We drove through this beautiful neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon. Be sure to stop by Visitor Center & pick up a map to navigate streets-very helpful. Lovely, well-kept homes dating back to 1883-1900's!! Makes you wonder what it was like in Colonial days...

The streets are lined with luminaries and the homes are decorated and open this weekend. Such a beautiful sight and such a wonderful experience. The tour included the Weeden House, the Helion Masonic Lidgd and First Methodist church as well as private homes. Each stop had guides and all were Christmas spectacles. Loved the evening.
