Just drove through this state park and plan to bring our RV here soon. There are only about 19 sites that have full services, but the price is right, there is a great lodge, and the view and hiking trails look amazing.

We have been here several times, they have very nice pavilions for a group of people to enjoy, there is a great place for the kids to run and play.

We really enjoy camping at Monte Sano State Park. It's quiet and has some great hiking trails. Unfortunately there's not any lakes or ponds to fish in.

Toddlers can enjoy the swing, and multiple slides of all sizes at this park. The walking trails are well marked, but very slick with morning dew and the fall leaves on the trails. If your toddler won’t walk very far I’d suggest either carrying him...More

This park does have an admission charge per car unlike many Alabama State Parks. They have many hiking trails, a large gathering /picnic area, camping, astronomy, and disc golf. A great visit.
