The building itself is interesting. Inside are about 10 rooms which explain Malaysian buildings, their history and purpose - for example, there are various religious ceremonies to choose an appropriate plot of land, even for non-religious buildings. You are taken through the various styles and traditional building techniques. The signage is also in English and there are video and 3D... More

The museum contains details about different architectural styles in Malaysia and shows some of the tools an elements of traditional malay architecture. The museum is free and is a nice stop while in the dutch square if you have time.

Relatively small museum, but a lot to learn inside. FOC and nicely air-conditioned. Well explained panels supported with graphics and photographs. The museum relate history, culture and people that shape Malaysian architecture. Suitable for all - architect or not, or just some random person with interest in history and culture.

Quiet. Air con. Free. A slice into Malacca history through its architecture. There is so much to the Malacca history because it had colonial powers of the Portuguese, Dutch and British. There is also history of the different Malaysian provinces. There are large panels that explain its entire history as well as wooden models of the different architecture styles. On... More

There was nowhere... More
