About
Mini Malaysia & Asean Cultural Park is located a few kilometres outside of Melaka, near the town of Ayer Keroh. If you have an interest in traditional architecture and ways of life, this is a great place to go exploring. Each of the homes represents the architectural style of the 13 states in Malaysia and is furnished with various items, arts and crafts which depict the culture of each state. Inside each house, you can find a range of genuine handicrafts originating from each state or county. Other attractions in the park include weekly cultural shows, traditional games, horse riding, kayaking, fishing, and etc.. Basically, this is an opportunity to see all Malaysian architecture and heritage in a short all-encompassing outing. And it's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of nearby urban Melaka.

I made a special effort to visit this cultural park by 1st going to Melacca Sentral, then asked for the right bus to get there. I got into the Mini Malaysian part as one of very few visitors. (I only found later that it required a separate ticket to the ASEAN part which was closed for maintenance anyway). The park was vast and I got to walk up and enter ALL the 13 wooden houses, each unique to a Malay State. These houses are well built, but the descriptive notes on them were short or non existing. There were supposedly some interactive programs at some houses, but I found none at the stated site. There was also a cultural performance at 2pm, but I was told it was moved to 2:30pm, with no notice or explanation on the schedule change. In the end, I was the ONLY audience to the 6 person show. I think this Park can be managed better to introduce Malaysian culture and architecture. The Park is a vast resource being under utilized. Public Transportation could be improved too, it was a long wait to get the bus back to Sentral.

This is a place you will never get bored with. Any revisits would still be very refreshing.
There are many types of houses for each State in Malaysia. You could learn all the different cultures of each state.
Place is quite but rather busy during weekends and holidays.
Please bring an umbrella if you are not use to walking under the hot sun as you need to hop from one house to the other,

The park housed different styles of Malaya traditional houses from the various states and as such was reasonably interesting. The traditional performance of traditional dances in the outdoor amphitheatre was entertaining enough. I thought it was worth an hour or two of our time.

We were all in with expectations to see the different types of houses in Malaysia. But the place was run down... no proper maintenance inside the houses, most of them were closed down,no interactive devices,or proper exhibits inside houses , very rare houses had and that too wasnt written in English ,would have enjoyed or understood if everything was written in English too! As a tourists attraction i think thats what every tourist would expect too if we want to understand the culture and the designs of those house structures.

72RM for tourists, 45RM for locals. The price is set for an all-day theme park, but it's not an all-day attraction, enough for a couple of hours at most and not great for children.
Go to Malacca and walk round the town for a better (and free!) experience.

Very disappointing. Entrance fee is not advertised, based on race. Cost me rm22.5. No Map guide provided. You could only view the Malaysia houses and were in decay. No demonstrations as was indicated. The ASEAN house half on the displays was blocked off due I would say to decay. Worst attraction in malacca. Rest of Malacca was very interesting and enjoyable.

The tickets prices too expensive. Frankly speaking, Malaysian wouldn't visit here for this kind of tickets prices.

I came here 2 days a go with a group of friends. Upon entering the area, we looked at the map. A notice was written that ASEAN cultural park was under renovation. So we spent most our time exploring mini Malaysia houses of 13 states. At 2.30 pm sharp there was a cultural performance. It lasted for 30 minutes. That was really entertaining, especially getting a chance to appreciate local traditional dances and music that is rare nowadays, except during weddings.
Part of the houses on display collapsed and we just wonder why it was left unattended. Hopefully the management will do something to get it done fast to restore the houses. We roamed around without any guide in the park.
It would be good if the park station an assistant to each of the 13 houses, to answer the curious tourists.
Each state to show some of their product / speciality instead of just the 'kampung' house itself. That would be more lively when visitors tour around, rather than just snapping some photos outside and left.
The souvenir sold outside was cheap and good.
