We managed to get out onto the river as part of an organised boat trip. You see a different slant to the city from the river and are closer to its historic roots. Highly recommended

A stroll here is to get a real feel for old Malacca and the importance of waterways in older times. And truly is just a joy to walk there.

It's a good experience to be in a boat to look around, just the foul smell that is a minus there. Overall experience is average, depending on each requirements of the travel.

The Riverside and the River is a must to see. Dutch old houses painted maroon and old British houses painted white can be seen along the riverside.
