Apparently, this is the oldest Roman Catholic church in South East Asia. The view inside the church is splendid, but outside also one can wander around the grounds looking for some old tombstones.

This is the oldest functioning Roman Catholic Church in Malaysia built in 1710. The grounds are quite big with the main building painted white. The interior of the church is quite plain, with nice wooden pews and a main altar. There is a water feature...More

St Peter´s Church is on top of Melaka Hill and you´ll find the ruins of the original church and some tombstones inside. The views of the old city are wonderful and definitely it´s worthy a visit!

Interesting to read about the history of this church. For those with knee problems or the elderly, this may be a difficult treck up the little hill, accessible by stairs only as far as I know.

we went here twice during the day, in the morning and early evening. In early evening the place was almost empty of people. and it was really nice to wander and enjoy the area.

The place has a rich history but, being mostly a ruin nowadays, it offers little to see apart from tombstones and a view over Malacca. Worth going for the breeze after a hot day in the city !

Went there at night after dinner around 10. Still got a few of people up there. Well lit area especially at the stairs & outside the building. Inside it was a bit dark but nice enough for photograph.

St. Peter’s Church, which Dutch built for Portuguese, has an abstract monument, representing a story about faith and walking on the water.
