The mosque against the Melaka Strait is a great place to take photos. They have a strict dress code if you want to enter the mosque. For my family, we just walked along the perimeter of the mosque where we don't need to follow the dress code. However, the mosque is located on an island so might be a bit difficult to get to. There's nothing else to do on the island besides visiting the mosque.

The place is clean and just besides the sea. It was windy. They do have restrictions on the clothing. But the good thing is they do have cloths for men and women which you can wear and go inside.
It’s very clean place.

The building looks nice but is surrounded by fences making it difficult to see and photograph unless getting up close. I understand and fully respect this is a religious building. The dress code is quite strict though and is worth bearing in mind beforehand. Men must have their legs fully covered, and ladies must have their arms, legs, and hair covered to enter the grounds.
We eventually found a dirt path behind the under-construction museum and after a bit of scrambling over rocks and litter were able to get a better photo.

The mosque is OK, it is nice to look at, but tourists are not allowed in the prayer hall and you have to take your shoes off to walk around some of the outside parts and if it is wet you get wet feet. It is also quite difficult to get to from Melaka, it is on an island and not that close to the town.

The mosque itself was nice. Nothing as elaborate as Turkish mosques, but on par with other Malaysian mosques.
The real treat is at sunset. Go to the jetty at the left to get a sunset photo to post on your wall at home, as the mosque itself lights up in green.

Actually this mosque is not actually floating, but because of its location on the seafront and supported by several pillars that make this mosque look like it is floating. The mosque is very clean and well maintained. In this mosque there is a kind of ATM that if we put our money in, we will get souvenirs from this mosque. Another interesting point is the pile of granite that lies along the beach area of the mosque.

I enjoyed myself at the seaside, waiting for sunset. I reached about 6pm plus, and the mosque was closed for visitation. However, I sat outside the mosque and waited for the sunset. The evening view of mosque is magnificent. They started to solat around 7pm. If you pray, please join them.

Hi, could somebody help me to explain how to get Melaka Straits Mosque? Should I rent a boat or something else?
Suhana Shohairi

You can just simply take a grab cab. No need to take a boat because the mosque is not in the "real" island. The island is just a name to that area and connected by a bridge.
when is the best time to visit the mosque? sunset or sunrise?

Sunset. Always Sunset. You'll get a more dramatic effect. The sun rises in the East and sets in the West
