This is one of the main streets in the town but it seemed to be a little run down with some empty retail units, probably suffering from the effects of out of town shopping. Some nice building including some art deco style. There is a nice gift shop; Urban Emporium. The lady in there was very friendly and gave lots... More

I happened to be here during Mardis Gras and was able to experience the parade. More family friendly than what I hear about New Orleans. Some good food spots too.

You can see this street on the Duck Boat Tour or just drive yourself. It's alot of restaurants. Mostly restaurants. So if that's what you wany, then go here. Otherwise, just follow the signs and drive down the street for a quick look and then go to the old cemetery next to the library and visit the old graves.

South Royal Street west. Starts at the Park, there is a Chick-Fil-A in the RSA Building, which is on South Royal street, pass the Squirrel park going West. Just about anything your taste fancies!

We put Dauphin Street in our GPS because it was suggested on Trip Advisor. When we arrived there were a few little shops but not enough to get out and go "shopping". I will say as we continued to drive around the homes there were beautiful. Just as I would expect homes in the south to look. So it's a... More

I visited this area several years ago and there is definitely more going on there now with more shops, restaurants, people; however, I advise you not to overexpect. If you like bars and a somewhat gritty scene you might like this. We walked through the area twice but didn't feel compelled to linger.

I'm sure during The parade this is a happening place but just to go on a Saturday night isn't much. There's just a bunch of restaurants spread out. Nothing to really see or shop.

This street has an abundance of restaurants, bars, and shops. Fun during the day and more colorful at night for the adventurous! We are at a different restaurant every day!
