This is a park very near to where we stay when we visit shanghai. So the mandatory and customary long walks around this walk are still enjoyable. you can do boating and do visit the rose garden

I discovered this park during jogging routine on the road. As I was jogging along the Wan Hang Du Lu, I found a market and thereafter an entrance to a park. I jogged into the park and only then I found out was Zhongshan Park. I love the shady trees along the way which makes it really scenic, huge and... More

Was just opposite my hotel. A lovely park with various areas. Wooded, bamboo, Chinese garden, open lawns. Reminded me a bit of Central Park New York. Seems well used by locals playing having picnics etc. A pleasant retreat from the bustling city.

Wanted to go out for some jogging and found this gem. Big and clean. A lot of people doing all kind sport activities and dancing contribute to the atmosphere. There is a pond and also amusement park for kids. Great place to spend a few hours and get out of the city rush. Humidity was 82% and that combined with... More

I had been here several times before. I never knew they had children's park rides because the park is so big I never saw it. The rides are great for young kids, very short lines, and not expensive. I saw there are boat rides on a lake but I haven't found that part yet. Bring a tent for kids naps... More

After visiting many parks in Shanghai I am seeing a common theme. It has numerous little pathways that meander about, mahjong and card players, squiggly rock features, a pond with boats, large grass areas, wide paths that criss-cross the park, etc. You know, park stuff; It's great. When in the area and you want to relax in a clean, pretty... More

Very convenient location, can take metro Line 2/ Line 3/Line 4 to get there. Lots of shoppping centres surrounded. It is good to have a walk through. There is a free exhibition museum , talks about the changing of the Changning district. Very relax to have a walk in the park and enjoy the sunshine.

I go to Zhongshan park nearly every day, even in winter (winters here are very mild). In this beautifully maintained park I can get away from all the noise and stress with my little toddler and let him run around and play. Beware, Park life here is very different from Europe! It is one of the best ways to experience... More

Lovely park that exudes Chinese scenery and activities. The people on Saturday were relaxed with old people dancing to music and some practising Tai Chi moves. Exciting activities like kite flying and outdoor tent camping was done. Noisy as it was a holiday, but peaceful during the week. Enjoyed my walk around the park. Small, sweet and memorable.

Nice stroll through this well maintained park. Went on a weekday morning, so was not busy. Many groups of older people practice exercise or dancing. Not many flowers but in overall good for a park, water attractions clean. Weekends should be crowded and noisy. Easy access by subway line 2 , next to Cloud Nine shopping mall

Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.
