Beautiful ancient town. worth visiting if you have a half day in Shanghai, although it has become little touristy with Starbucks etc. Getting there was quite easy. I took Line 1 to Jingjang park station and got out of exit 2. Walked right to the...More

I was very surprised to visit, what might seem to be, one of the few remaining, long lost gems, examples of the old canal/waterway architecture/culture of Fengjing “Ancient” Town. As some others have mentioned, it does appear to be an undiscovered gem, off the normal...More

Fun place to stroll around and get lost in time. There is no admission fee. The buildings are from the Ming and Qing era and are well maintained. It is a water town with numerous bridges. There are lots of food choices to try.

A very quiet and old-world feel is in the air in the Fengjing River Town area. Small buildings, craft shops, private homes all on the edge of the river/canal system. Interesting stone bridges, old style architecture, local people playing cards on the street in front...More
