We expected something along the line of the art compound in Beijing but came out a bit disappointed . Here it is less classy , more messy ,smaller and many galleries were closed . There was nothing I wanted to buy . Still it is nice to wander around and have a coffee or tea in the sun .

Came here on Saturday and had to return on Sunday. The construction in the neighborhood confused me at first. I thought perhaps they were moving the district. But then I came upon the compound and really enjoyed wandering the alleys. Much more manageable than the huge 798 in Beijing. Some extravagant prices and some good deals as well. Fun stuff.... More

We loved this space but totally failed at finding it by taking the advice of a tourist information pamphlet on the first day. We went by taxi from The Bund which was only 28 rmb. On the way out we found Line 13 Changshou Rd station was only about 700 mtrs away. So well worth a look but don't go... More

If you are any way creatively inclined, this place is a pretty much must see in Shanghai... it is however, slightly out of the way so you need to plan your route carefully when planning a trip there. Once you get there, it is fairly difficult to navigate around, because everything is kind of all over the place, but once... More

On my approach to the creative park I got excited by the colourful graffiti and was looking forward to some interesting, thought-provoking art. Unfortunately I didn't really find it. It was all a bit middle of the road for me. I did have a very good coffee and cake in one of the cool cafes but was surprised by the... More

Hidden alleys with so many art galleries. Nice to visit, walk around, have a coffee, watch art, designs, talk to artists... my favorite was island_6

You can easily spend a day here so leave plenty of time to scourer the stairwells to find some gems. A thriving environment for budding artists, traditional and modern art...It has got an urban edge and in your face art that is expected of any free society.

Its a lovely place to hang out on a sunny day. There are dozens of little galleries where you can watch artists at work and buy work. There are now several cafes there where you can get a coffee and some excellent arty gift shops where you can pick up some souvenirs which are a little bit special. It's walkable... More

Earlier this week I was in Shanghai on business. Had free time on Saturday, and since I was staying in the area near the Shanghai Railway Station, decide to explore the neighbourhood around the Intercontinental. Ended up having a good walk in the area, crossed Suzhou creek, passed by a number of fruit and vegetable stores and local fast food... More

Decided to walk over here from the Intercontinental near by the train station. Good walk through the area, also a way to see Suzhou Creek and just check out the neighborhood The art area / shops themselves are neat. The local artists would like to talk with you Overall a good and interesting experience especially if you speak Chinese
