Sheshan Church and the whole area surrounding the hill where the church stands, is a small oasis of peace surrounded by greenery. Also interesting is the astronomical observatory that stands next to the church, and is definitely worth a visit. You can get there by...More

This is a large catholic Jesuit basilica built on top of a hill way to the west of Shanghai. It’s interesting from an architectural and historical perspective but doesn’t rival classical European structures.

This renown She Shan Basilica has been reported the apparition of Holy Mother in the early 80s. The local community at that time witnessed the "said miracles " . For those interested, they may go there to explore the findings yourself !

The Catholic Church has always chosen high points, and this is no exception. The walk up is tiring but beautiful as it is through a forest. There is a bus all the way there from the city, or you can use the metro and bus.
