Perfect for photography

Other than Thames Town and French Concession, this is the most photogenic place in Shanghai. The best part is that the buildings are designed to mimic Shanghai in the 1930s

Unless you are a real film buff, interested in visiting an old-fashioned working-type studio, are traveling in the area for another reason or have already done all the other usual Shanghai attractions and want to get away from the crowds - the time and effort taken to get here would not justify the visit. We visited Thames Town and decided... More

We came to visit the Film Park at Chedun, quite far from Shanghai downtown and lot of traffic around the place, bias of access are not convenient, you will need to consider some extra time for that. The park is not big, regular size and with different scenery for the different occasions filmed there, however, it is not great, the... More

Worth the distance travelled from shanghai (approx 1 hour). If you watched old chinese movies, most of them were filmed here. Lots of beautiful old buildings. If you are into vintage things this is worth the visit. The only complain was the super dirty toilet, prepare yourself, bring mask to cover your nose and your own toilet paper!

We had a great time. The live action show is cute. It's in Chinese, so not sure how much we missed, but the action is very good.

Not only can you see here what Shanghai must have looked like in the 1930s (they modeled the park exactly after an old picture), but you can also recognize many places from movies that are set in the old city. If you go in the morning, you can go to Thames Town in the afternoon: a neighborhood modeled after typical... More

The impression I got before I reach this place was it must again be filled with bunch of local Chinese tourist. But to my amazement, it's rather the opposite of it. Not crowded at all. Mostly are individuals/couple travelers. The info I found about this place at the official website are actually very very outdated. The website itself mentioned about... More

For starters its a bit away from the main city, so if you don't have lots of time this place is not for you, also I did not see any Taxi's around so figure your transport before you decide to go there. There was a entrance fee of 80 RMB, though I think if you book online there is a... More

It is some journey outside the city & probably took us 40 odd minutes to get there, costing about 100rmb by taxi. The entrance fee was 80rmb each if I remember rightly. There was nothing else around it and local people hanging around near the entrance seemed shocked to see us. When I was there it seemed nothing was going... More

You do get discounts for elderly or... More
