Sinan Mansions on Sinan Lu boost a collection of mansions for Shanghai’s elite. In fact, it’s just down the road from the former residence of China’s premier Zhao Enlai and Sun Yat Sen. But it doesn’t always look this way, while the architectural design is...More

Strolling along the street, listening to classic Chinese orchestras, looking at vendors' traditional handmade wares, restaurants for afternoon tea - this place has everything! Love the vibes at this Chinese place! Highly recommended for people who want to experience the oriental feel first hand.

Classy venue with good choices of food and a couple of microbreweries on top of everything else. The buildings and the grounds are beautiful. Well worth a visit.

I love the French quarter in Shanghai - such beautiful french buildings that are impressively designed and are now filled with up-market shops. The Starbucks in this area is stunning on the inside.

These are old restored buildings that have been turned into an entertainment area - very nice. However we came mid-day - there seemed to be no body around; nobody in the restaurants; no shopping area - so no atmosphere. Didn't really like it

It's interesting only if you' re into photography and architecture. It is a clean and westernised place, where you can relax and have a cup of coffee, but nothing extraordinary!

This Sinan area is quite exclusive, it is well maintained and has a touch of history as well. You will find quietness and feeling of the past here. It's easily accessible by walk and nicely between Tianzi Fang and Xintiandi. This is part of the...More

Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly
governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French
Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that
is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While
it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will
sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their
mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area
seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet,
