"Pudong, in its 13-year history, has surprisingly progressed in its economic strength and its urban development. This 556-sqaure-kilometer farmland 13 years ago is well on its way toward a modern metropolis. As the epitome of Shanghai' modernization and the symbol of China's reform and opening up drive, Pudong has become an ideal land for global investors." http://pudong.shanghaichina.org/jiangsx.htm

The individual attractions here are all fantastic, form the aquarium to the skyscrapers to the shops, but the holistic area is just fine.

Wide streets full of fancy brands and hotels, on the other hand, you may be tempted to go to some narrow streets with sales men everywhere inviting visitors to their hidden shops of fake copied goods such as bags and watches. Beware of them, or...More

We loved the lights at night in this awe-inspiring place. We also liked the raised walkway for pedestrians so you don't have to deal with the crazy traffic. Lots of great sights in this part of town. Best time to visit is at night.

What an amazing area with just so much going on. It was great to see the new buildings and see the contrast from the old on the Bund to the new modern Shanghai. Well worth a visit.

Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place
that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle
down and stop living in the cramped confines of a
refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park
are some of the most desirable as they are in close
proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to
the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw,
it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports
