We visited in November of 2015 and the museum provided nice historical context about Selma. Our guide provided us her undivided attention and we were fortunate to get such an extensive look at the town's history. This provided a nice complement to civil rights historic sites and we felt it rounded out the picture. Just a short walk from downtown... More

My wife and I visited this museum while we were in Selma. It was $3 a person and well worth the money. The tour guide did an outstanding job of telling us interesting stories throughout the tour. I appreciate the city of Selma much more after going on this tour.

I would not call this building historically significant but it is worth a visit. The architecture is interesting, and there are some interesting artifacts inside. They also use the building these days for weddings and other social functions. Our docent stayed with us the entire time, so we really didn't have a chance to read everything we wanted to read.... More
