Fun afternoon exploring

We visited with our dog. Many areas for walking and exploring. Be sure to see the hollowed out tree. Wish there had been more plaques explaining the area.

We love going to Blakeley Park! We always find somewhere new to read and learn as well as enjoy the beautiful scenery. They take great care of the Park and the facilities on their property. It's such a neat place to go explore!

This park is one of the last battles during the Civil War defending Mobile Bay. The park has a modest general admission fee and there are picnic tables, parking, public restrooms and vending machines. You get a map at the gate but we found several trails not marked correctly on the map such as Beaver Pond trail and Champion Tree... More

Blakeley State Park commemorates one of the last battles of the Civil War. It was part of the campaign by Union forces to capture Mobile after the battle of Mobile Bay. I did not know this park existed and neither did one of my friends who is a campground and park expert. It is just a little north of Spanish... More

After reading reviews and feeling inclined to visit , we attempted to explore the park. We had only half an hour to kill as we came early for another tour. As we approached the entrance, we saw that they charge to enter. I think it's a reasonable fee. Since we didn't have much time, we didn't fool with it.

Blakeley historic site state park We camped at this park for one night. Very nice gentleman at the registration office. There is a gate that closes at 9 pm so if you are camping you get the code to open the gate after hours. The campsites are relatively private and surrounded by vegetation. The RV campground area had electricity and... More

This is a beautiful, secluded park that has a great open field for group camping. The bath house was a short drive/walk from the camp spot which is great for camping with kids. There is also the option to rent a port-a-potty for those emergency, middle of the night trips. There's a large pavilion close by that was great for... More

We took our grandson last year on spring break. If you have ever visited Vicksburg Military Park you will be sorely disappointed. There isn't much here and you have to drive a long way on a dirt road which would have been ok if there was something to see. It is a pretty drive back to it though but I... More

I have never camped in the park, but it seems to have good facilities. The park is beautiful and has lots of trails and roads for horseback riding, biking, and walking. It is the site of Fort Blakeley and Old Town Blakeley. There is so much history in this place, it is amazing. The very last battle of the Civil... More

Fellow RVers-The campground is rustic and secluded. Large rigs need extra prep before coming here. Most sites are not flat and/or long enough plus lots of trees to dodge depending on the site. Odd utility placement some sites. I use all 30' of my sewer hose. 50amp, sewer and water all sites except tents. The historical sites are interesting as... More
